June Fanning (nee Spencer)
Aged 85 Years.
Loving wife of Gerard for 62 years, mother to Helen, Andrew and Brendan, grandmother to Emma, Sam, Erik, Katie and Claire, great-grandmother to Miranda and Evelyn.
Died peacefully at home in Adelaide on 26 January, 2024, with her family around her, after several years fighting cancer.
A Derker girl, she began nursing at Oldham Royal Infirmary as a cadet in 1954 and remained there as Student, Staff Nurse, Night Sister and Theatre Sister.
Later she worked with Mr.. Steptoe doing research at Dr.. Kershaw’s, then at Rochdale Infirmary as Clinical Nurse Tutor, before finishing her career with 14 years as Occupational Health Nurse at Osram Ltd., Shaw.
